2. JetstreamsUSA, your source for 1/200 scale models! Inflight200 Exclusives, and more.
3. Jet streams are characterised by great seasonal variations as during colder part of the year they migrate towards the equator and their velocity also gets increased while during summer the wind speed of the Jetstreams is reduced to approximately half of what it is in the winter season and they reach far into tropics
4. Welcome to Jetstreams USA! Your source for the best in high quality large scale aircraft models.
5. Jetstreams can sometimes have tailwinds above 200 miles per hour, and that is going to get an aircraft to where it needs to be much quicker, whilst burning a lot less fuel

JETSTREAMS [ˈjet ˈˌstrēm]
Definition of jet stream : a long narrow meandering current of high-speed winds near the tropopause blowing from a generally westerly direction and often exceeding a speed of 250 miles (402 kilometers) per hour technical : a strong current of fast winds high above the Earth's surface
Interesting Facts about the Jet Stream. Jet streams are very fast moving currents of air found at about 10 km (6.2 miles) above the surface of the earth in the tropopause, which is the transition layer between the Earth’s troposphere and the stratosphere. The major jet streams usually follow an undulating narrow path from west to east.
Characteristics of Jet stream
There are two types of major jet streams, the polar jet streams and the subtropical jet streams. Polar jet streams typically form from 7-12 km (4.3-7.4 miles) above sea level, while subtropical jet streams, which are weaker, form from 10-16 km (6.2-10 miles) above sea level.
